What to do in
Matemwe village, Zanzibar
Located on the East coast of the island, the Matemwe village offers the best paradise beaches of white sand. Fishermen still use traditional ngalawas to sail for fishing.
They stayed with us
We have forged relationships with the fishermen and the villagers, who have kindly accepted us in their village and the fish market. Our daughters were delighted with the donuts made by the Mama behind the fish market and with the coconuts harvested directly on the trees. They also played with the children of the village.Laurent R. Nîmes
We had some memorable days particularly on memba as the snorkelling was outstanding. We also enjoyed a couple of days cycling around Matamwe and Nungwi area. We also just relaxed a lot on the deck.Robin G. London
We really enjoyed the beach with the crystal water and we went for sailing several times with the fishermen of this genuine village. Our kids and us we really enjoyed the beach, the people, the school close to the house.Anna B. Barcelona
